We are delighted to introduce our new national partner, who will be supporting every Horatio’s Garden across the UK and Northern Ireland!

It is a very happy new year for Horatio’s Garden, as we can share that starting today, Premium Care Solutions (PCS) will be coming on board to support all of our gardens as our national partner for 2023, and hopefully beyond.

PCS are a complex care provider with a national reach, who specialise in offering high quality packages of care primarily to both adults and children with spinal cord injuries. PCS also support individuals with brain injuries and other significant neuro-muscular conditions.

Many of their staff have experience working in the spinal injury centres dotted around the UK, so they are no strangers to Horatio’s Garden, and they saw this partnership as a fantastic opportunity to get their hands dirty and volunteer, to raise funds and awareness, and to support our beneficiaries in our gardens across the country; giving back to the spinal injury community in clinical settings where support is often needed the most.

Since starting in 2015 as a small, family run business, PCS has flourished, now employing over 300 staff and providing packages of complex care to over 60 clients, the majority of whom are people with spinal injuries.

Their whole team still has a warm, friendly and highly client-centred approach to what they do, often being considered “part of the family” and they go above and beyond to ensure that their clients are able to lead highly fulfilling, “normal” lives after their injury.

Jin Garcha, one of the founders of PCS and their clinical director, is no stranger to the spinal injury centres, having spent 10 years as an intensive care nurse and then 22 years in the community working with individuals with spinal injuries. Jin had the following to share about our partnership and why PCS are so passionate about supporting Horatio’s Garden;

“We are very excited to be part of this wonderful community and to have the opportunity to volunteer in the gardens is a huge privilege. We look forward to the year ahead and making a difference for Horatio’s Garden and all that use it, nationwide”.

As a national complex care provider, PCS have clients spread across the UK and support people who have struggled to find good quality care, particularly in remote places. Like Horatio’s Garden, they are incredibly passionate, willing and able to support anyone who needs them after a spinal injury, which made them a perfect choice for us to become a national partner.

And, like all of our new partners, they have a deep knowledge and understanding of spinal injury, which is a huge asset to our garden teams when it comes to supporting patients and their families spending time in the gardens adjusting to life after spinal injury.

Bethan Cummings, our Director of Fundraising, was delighted to bring the PCS team on board, and welcome them into all of our gardens:

“It has been wonderful to get to know the team at Premium Care Solutions, and we are all very excited to have them on board as partners. Their team have so much passion when it comes to supporting people with Spinal Injuries, and they are all incredibly knowledgeable about the condition too. We know they will make exceptional volunteers and will help us to provide even more support to everyone who uses and enjoys our gardens.

 As our new national partner, PCS are making history with us, and we are looking forward to working with them to help make the process of recovery and rehabilitation after spinal injury much more positive for the SCI community throughout the UK”.

 Having partners on board who have such a fantastic awareness of spinal injury, and who have spent decades supporting clients and their families after injury, is a really important part of our plans for our gardens. Our new partnership will help us to deliver even more support from a place of real understanding and empathy.

Jin and the company’s Managing Director, Amrit Dehal, kindly attended our recent Christmas Carol Concert, supporting the event and contributing towards the incredible over £20,000 total we raised there. It was lovely to be able to spend some time with them during the Christmas period and to be able to introduce them to many of our staff, including the garden teams, who will all be benefiting from their support throughout the year.

All of our Head Gardeners are incredibly excited about getting the PCS team into the gardens and already they have a long list of jobs ready and waiting for them!

To the entire PCS team, we want to say a huge thank you; we are incredibly proud and privileged to be working with you as our national partner and are looking forward to a fantastic new year with you on board.
