Our gardens are funded entirely by the generosity of people like you.
There are lots of ways that you can donate. Become a Friend or give a one-off donation, make a gift in celebration or donate shares. Every single donation makes a difference.
Regular giving
Become a Friend
By supporting with a regular donation, you can help us be there for everyone affected by spinal injury and allow us to plan ahead for the future.
If you have a special connection with one of our gardens, you can choose to support it with your regular gift.
Friends of Horatio’s Garden receive:
- A Horatio’s Garden lapel badge
- A small Emma Bridgewater Horatio’s Garden mug (for regular donations of £10 or more)
- Regular updates about our work throughout the year including exclusive content

Become a Patron
Become part of an extraordinary group of donors who share our mission. Your support makes it possible to ensure people with spinal injuries get the beautiful spaces they need.
We offer invitations to exclusive events – talks, drinks reception for Chelsea Flower Show and an annual visit to a private garden – and recognition in all that we do.
As a Patron, you can choose to support us at three different levels:
- £2,500 a year supports one patient and their family and friends to benefit from the garden for a whole year
- £5,000 a year supports two patients and their family and friends to benefit from the garden for a whole year
- £10,000 year supports four patients and their family and friends to benefit from the garden for a whole year

Your support includes a benefits value of £250, which is what it costs the charity to deliver them. Any amount given more than this counts as a donation, which is VAT exempt and is eligible for Gift Aid.

Occasion giving
Donate in memory
Donating or fundraising in someone’s memory is a special and thoughtful tribute.
You can do this by:
- Donating online – we would love to hear about who inspired the gift and what the charity meant to them
- Setting up and sharing a JustGiving page to collect donations or fundraise in memory – set up my JustGiving page
- Organise a funeral collection – contact us to provide donation envelopes to help make donating on the day easier

By asking family and friends to consider donating in celebration of your wedding, birthday or anniversary, you’ll always remember your special day as one that made a difference.

A gift in your will
Leaving a gift in your will of any amount is a tax efficient and wonderful way to support us for the future.

Other ways to give
Donate shares
Share donation is one of the most tax efficient ways to support our vital work. You won’t pay Capital Gains Tax on the shares you donate and you may be able to claim income tax relief too.
To donate shares worth over £500, please contact Bethan Cummings, Director of Fundraising by emailing bethan@horatiosgarden.org.uk or ring us on 01722 326834.
To donate shares worth less than £500, you can support our work by giving via ShareGift, mentioning that you'd like to support Horatio's Garden. ShareGift is an independent UK charity specialising in releasing money locked up in small shareholdings, but they can accept donations of any amount.

Payroll giving
