This month The Simple Things magazine have chosen to feature Dr Olivia Chapple in their monthly ‘Excellent Women’ feature.
The article tells the story of charity. It focusses particularly on the wonderful idea Horatio had to create a garden for patients in Salisbury, and how Olivia has nurtured his legacy to establish the stunning sanctuaries that are treasured by so many today.
The Simple Things came to life five years ago, created by three friends who all believed that people needed a magazine which brought more positivity to their lives; something that didn’t tell people what to do, or made them strive for perfection.
This is why the magazine celebrates the idea that little things make a big difference in the long run, a belief shared by Horatio’s Garden. As the article states, in just two weeks £20,000 was donated back in 2011 to make Horatio’s Garden Salisbury a reality. Creating and nurturing every one of our gardens is an immense challenge, but it is one which is achieved thanks to the dedication and support of so many incredible individuals. Together, we are all improving the lives of everyone affected by spinal injury.
