As some of you may have spotted, we recently had the privilege of having a whole episode of brand new Sky Arts series, The Art of the Garden, dedicated to Horatio’s Garden.
You’ll find Horatio’s Garden features in episode five, which you can watch now with Sky On Demand or with your NOWTV subscription
Our feature episode was the fifth to be originally broadcast on Tuesday 30th August, with the beautiful six-part series coming to a close the following week. The series has most certainly been an enormous success, whilst we’ve also been fortunate to receive many wonderful comments from supporters old and new about how much they enjoyed the episode focussing on Horatio’s Garden.
It was thanks to brilliant producer, Alastair Layzell, that we came to be involved. With the series commissioned, he began to approach a collection of acclaimed garden designers, including six-time RHS Chelsea Gold Medal winner and designer of Horatio’s Garden South West, Cleve West.
With Cleve having designed the very first of the charity’s gardens, it seemed like the perfect opportunity for him to share more about his sources of inspiration, the thought and care involved in creating a garden unlike anything ever attempted before and how both the charity and the garden itself came to be.

As well as Cleve sharing more about his Horatio’s Garden design, the programme also features interviews with the celebrated Joe Swift and James Alexander-Sinclair, designers of Horatio’s Garden Stoke Mandeville and Horatio’s Garden Scotland. In addition, viewers can expect to catch a glimpse of Horatio’s Garden London & South East, designed by eight-time RHS Chelsea Gold Medal winner Tom Stuart-Smith, whilst the episode also features our Founder & Chair of Trustees, Dr Olivia Chapple.
Now that the stunning series has been broadcast, you can watch it in its entirety with Sky On Demand, or with your NOWTV subscription. Each episode is a truly a treat, offering an unparalleled insight into the considered world of some of the very best garden designers and indeed into the world of Horatio’s Garden.
