Beryl is a volunteer in Horatio’s Garden Stoke Mandeville, but over the past few weeks she’s been going above and beyond in her time away from the garden to support patients and their loved ones.

With government guidelines remaining in place for a little while longer, Beryl and her fellow volunteers have been unable to visit the garden as often as they would have liked. As such, Beryl decided to do what she could at home to help the charity.

Being a keen plantswoman with a stunning garden, Beryl generously held a plant sale and opened her own horticultural haven by appointment in order to raise vital funds for us.

In just two weeks, she’s successfully sold around 60 plants, which were all lovingly nurtured throughout the spring in her garden, whilst she’s also safely welcomed visitors on five separate occasions. Word of everyone’s enjoyment on the tours has certainly spread fast and Beryl is delighted to also have an additional six visits booked!

Her efforts have raised a fantastic total of £550 so far, both offline and via her JustGiving page, which you’re welcome to donate too by clicking here.

We’re enormously grateful to Beryl and to all those who have bought plants, taken a tour of her garden, or been tempted by both!
