The Scottish Gallery in Edinburgh generously held a plant sale on Saturday 18th July in order to support our Grow to Give fundraising campaign.

In celebration of their first weekend opening since lockdown began, the gallery took the opportunity to raise awareness and vital funds for the charity. Over the past few weeks, the team have been growing seedlings for the sale themselves and also took to social media to ask for donations from local plant enthusiasts in order to offer people as much variety as possible.

Thankfully, lots of people were incredibly generous and dropped off all kinds of plants, including one artist who gave monkey puzzle seedlings and vast quantities of wild strawberries. Others gave amazing tomato plants and onions, which meant passersby found it hard to resist stopping to peruse the selection.

The sale successfully raised £380 for Horatio’s Garden and with so many more plants than expected the team have kindly offered to continue selling those that are left throughout the rest of the summer.

We are enormously grateful to The Scottish Gallery and to everyone who either donated or bought plants on Saturday for supporting the charity. If you missed out on this weekend’s sale but would like to take a look at the selection still available, simply head to:
