As many of you based in Stoke Mandeville may know, Pipers Corner School have very kindly been supporting Horatio’s Garden throughout the year as their nominated charity.

However, nine fantastic Year 6 pupils decided that this simply wasn’t enough and on Saturday took on the challenge of a sponsored walk from High Wycombe to West Wycombe in aid of Horatio’s Garden.

With their parents close by, Chlöe, Charlotte, Phoebe, Emma, Hannah, Isabelle, Izzy, Lauren and Sofia walked an incredible 7.2 miles through the rolling Chiltern Hills to the Golden Ball in the village of West Wycombe before starting the journey home again. Having set out bright and early at 9:30am, they certainly enjoyed a well-deserved break in the picturesque village – as did the dogs who came along for the ride!

Thankfully the weather was kind to the group and together they raised a fantastic total of over £1,300 for Horatio’s Garden. It was great to hear from parent Andrew McBarnett throughout the week, who kept us updated about the girls’ progress and shared his wonderful photographs of the girls’ fundraising efforts.

We are so pleased to see that you all enjoyed your very special walk and are so grateful to the nine of you for brilliantly supporting of Horatio’s Garden. Your courage and thoughtfulness will help to improve the lives of all those affected by spinal injury.
