On 19th May Patrick May will be taking on the phenomenal challenge of a sprint triathlon along St Annes Promenade in Lancashire.
Pat is hoping to raise £1000 for Horatio’s Garden Scotland in particular, as his 30 year old son Michael is currently spending time in the Scottish Spinal Injuries Unit following a T12 injury.
He spoke of the garden fondly, sharing that “The garden has been a fantastic space for him and the whole family”, and their positive experiences of the garden have inspired Pat to generously fundraise for the charity.
On a personal note, Pat also added that he has recently had both cartilages in his right knee repaired, so completing his sporting challenge will be a major achievement. Michael is also planning to travel down to St Annes for the event. He hopes to complete the final 500m of the run in his chair by his father’s side, so both he and Pat can cross the finish line together.
If you would like to help Pat to reach his fundraising target please donate HERE.
We are so grateful to Pat for supporting Horatio’s Garden and we wish both him and Michael the best of luck.
