This year Nationwide Engineering were helping us to get Birchall tea to our gardens across the country and to our Fabulous Summer Tea Party hosts to enjoy throughout June. However, as certain restrictions meant that we were no longer able to do this, the company generously continued their support of the charity by holding a Summer Sunflower Competition instead!
People across the UK kindly decided to get involved, with the sowing, growing and nurturing proving to be a bit of fun for the adults and children alike. Among them were budding young gardeners, Edith and Emily, who tended their sunflowers with lots of care and attention. Their tallest sunflower measured a hearty 128cm, which was more than enough to make the girls happy!
Thanks to everyone taking part, Nationwide Engineering have been able to donate £100 to Horatio’s Garden, which will really help to support patients across the UK. We are enormously grateful to the team at the company for thinking of us in these challenging times and to all the growers who generously contributed and spread a little sunshine through lockdown!
