Naomi King has decided to run in the Royal Parks Half Marathon this October to help raise vital funds for Horatio’s Garden Stoke Mandeville!

Having worked at the National Spinal Injuries Centre (NSIC) for seven years, where our Stoke Mandeville sanctuary opened in 2018, Naomi has experienced life both with and without a garden.

This perspective has enabled her to truly appreciate the difference Horatio’s Garden has made. As she shares on her fundraising page, she’s been lucky enough to enjoy the garden and has seen for herself the positive impact the haven has on people with life-changing spinal cord injuries. Similarly, she mentions that the uplifting power of nature has been just as important to her, her fellow physiotherapists and the rest of the NHS team too!

As our Stoke Mandeville garden is particularly close to Naomi’s heart, all the money she raises will go towards ensuring we can continue to nurture this particular sanctuary, whilst she’s also keen to encourage everyone to help us in our mission to bring a horticultural haven to all 11 NHS spinal injury centres however they can.

We are so grateful for Naomi’s thoughtfulness and already a combination of her kindness and sporting prowess has helped her on her way to her fundraising target of £500.

There’s still time to support her though, so please continue to give generously until the big race day arrives!

We wish Naomi all the best with her continued training and can’t wait to hear all about her Royal Parks Half Marathon adventure soon.
