Based in North London, artist Megan Jane Davies divides her time between creating her own artworks and teaching art classes at her home. In amongst all her existing commitments, she’s also now embarking on an ambitious new project she’s calling ‘50 Flowers for 50 Charities’.

Working primarily in two-dimensional media, namely drawing, painting, collage and printmaking, Megan’s artwork is eclectic, ranging from purely abstract to detailed representation.
Her wonderful ‘50 Flowers for 50 Charities’ project is a reflection of this and we were so touched to hear that she’s kindly chosen Horatio’s Garden as the first charity she’ll be generously supporting.
Megan will be specifically supporting our new Welsh sanctuary, as University Hospital Llandough, where the garden is being built, is close to her childhood home. Having often been a patient there herself, akin to her family and friends, she felt it was important to recognise the value of local hospitals and the NHS services they provide.
Having first heard about Horatio’s Garden on a gardening podcast in 2020, Megan also wished the acknowledge the work of the charity in helping to make hospitals accessible, welcoming and rejuvenating places, noting herself the power of nature as a proven and amazing healer.
The painting Megan has dedicated to supporting Horatio’s Garden Wales is a stunning capture of a clutch of Bellflowers, which appeared around the concrete steps of her back door at home. She loved how they brightened up what would otherwise be a relatively dull grey area, an apt reflection of the charity’s mission.
She’s currently selling Limited Edition Fine Art Giclée Prints of her original Bellflower painting, the first of the 50 Megan plants to paint.

The prints range in size and price from £50 – £260, with approximately 30% from each sale being donated to Horatio’s Garden Wales.
