Widely regarded as the UK’s most stunning triathlon, the event is a world class experience combined with beautiful scenery and makes for a day out like no other. Each year it welcomes over 7,000 participants of all ages and abilities, who swim, cycle and run the spectacular route.

This year the race took place from Saturday 11th – Sunday 12th September and Leonora was there amongst the crowd, along with her family and friends who enthusiastically cheered her on throughout her epic challenge.

She decided to embark upon the triathlon and raise vital funds for Horatio’s Garden as her best friend was a patient at the London Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation Centre in the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore from 2014 – 2015.

Knowing how much her friend would have loved to have access to a Horatio’s Garden, as well as recognising how much more wonderful her visits would have been if the haven had been there, Leonora wished to do whatever she could to ensure that others enjoy all the benefits of being able to go outside and spend time with their loved ones amongst nature.

She’s still hoping to raise as much as possible for our London & South East sanctuary, so please continue to donate whatever you can to help the charity.

We are so grateful to Leonora for sharing her story and for taking on this immense challenge to support Horatio’s Garden. We hope she’s taking a well-deserved rest and that we may see her volunteering in our London & South East sanctuary very soon.
