We were very touched by Emma Williamson’s thoughtful fundraiser in memory of her wonderful grandfather, Peter Williamson, which has raised £700 for our Scottish haven.
As Emma shares on her JustGiving page, she decided to support the charity in this considerate way as her grandad and her family benefitted from spending time in Horatio’s Garden Scotland.
Back in 2007, Peter spent eight months in the Queen Elizabeth National Spinal Injuries Unit in Glasgow and it was during this time that he first discovered the sanctuary. It was a comfort to both him and the Williamson family as he recovered from his illness and it continued to be the place they all enjoyed together throughout Peter’s subsequent visits.
We are thinking of Emma, Peter and all the Williamsons and are so grateful to the family for their moving decision to help other people who are currently adjusting to life with a spinal cord injury.
