On Thursday patients, volunteers, guests and NHS staff gathered in the sunshine-soaked courtyard of our Scotland garden for the second Horatio’s Garden Fabulous Summer Tea Party.
The pods and marquees were daintily decorated with bunting and fresh flowers from the nearby beds, giving guests their own little piece of Horatio’s Garden for the afternoon. Volunteers joyfully served tea and cake to everyone who attended, with everyone praising them for making the afternoon a lovely, memorable occasion. The array of brightly decorated cakes certainly went down well and looked even more marvellous once outside, glistening enticingly in the sunlight!
The young, award-winning flautist Bogdan delighted everyone with his music too, which echoed softly throughout the garden all afternoon. Many guests were hugely impressed by his talent, and we are so grateful to Bogdan for sharing his music with us.
We were also delighted to welcome representatives from long-time supporters Digby Brown Solicitors back to the garden, who were very happy to spend the afternoon chatting to guests and volunteers alike. Not only were they great company, they also helped the Fabulous Summer Tea Party live up to its name by donating an incredible £6,000 to the charity! The Digby Brown team regularly volunteer with us and we really appreciate all that they do for our Scotland garden.
It was truly wonderful to see so many kind people at the party yesterday who share our belief in the healing power of gardens. Your generosity means a great deal to us and ensures that this beautiful space will be there for patients and their loved ones for many years to come.
