Featuring works by more than 70 of the UK’s leading artists including Quentin Blake, Sophie Ryder, Mark Coreth, Sarah Armstrong-Jones, Nic Fiddian-Green, Lucy Kent, Alastair Barford and Jemma Powell, the Horatio’s Garden Online Art Auction is back for 2025!

The auction will open from Thursday 9 October – Sunday 26 October and is once again in collaboration with and sponsored by fine art auctioneers Woolley & Wallis.

It builds on the success of the auctions held in 2021 and 2023, which raised £70,000 and £50,000 respectively. This is your opportunity to discover a variety of exquisite works across painting, sculpture, ceramics and photography and every bid you place will be helping us to continue creating extraordinary gardens for people with life-changing spinal injuries. All pieces are to be sold with no additional bidding or online fees.

Artist Sophie Ryder, who previously exhibited three beautiful bronze sculptures in Horatio’s Garden Stoke Mandeville says: “Horatio’s Garden is one of the loveliest charities I have been involved with. Creating an amazing environment for the wellbeing of patients is such an important part of recovery. Small spaces that are transformed into ‘secret gardens’ for people to sit and enjoy nature. As a child I spent many years in and out of children’s hospitals and the outdoor spaces were square and boring concrete yards. We would have loved a makeover by Horatio’s Garden.”

Artists Olivia and Emily Kilby, otherwise known as Wheely Good Ceramics are also donating a piece to the auction. Together they have led ceramics workshops in Horatio’s Garden London & South East and know from experience how valuable the garden is to people’s recovery. They say: “We’re taking part in this year’s art auction as Horatio’s Garden is a charity we truly care about. The workshops in the garden give a space for people to take their mind off things and allows for them to try something new, or in an adapted way to how they may have done so in the past.”

Emily adds: “I have a C4 incomplete spinal cord injury, meaning I cannot paint with my hands and so paint using my mouth instead. Art allows for me to switch off. Taking part in the art workshops is something my sister and I love doing and it is something myself and my family would’ve appreciated greatly if it were around during the time I spent months in hospital following my spinal cord injury.”

Artist Sarah Armstrong-Jones says: “Art is such an important creative focus in Horatio’s Gardens for patients with spinal injuries. I am really delighted to be able to help the charity to raise vital funds for people facing life-changing injuries.”

Artist Mark Coreth also shares: “I feel passionate about using sculpture to help people, which is why I offer workshops in Horatio’s Garden South West and wished to support this important auction.”
