Thanks to the generous invitation of Duncan and Nicky Clark, Braxted Park opened its private gardens on Monday 12th June.

Joe Swift celebrated Gardeners’ World BBC presenter and designer of the third Horatio’s Garden at Stoke Mandeville held a talk on ‘Designing a Chelsea Gold Garden’. Joe shared insights in behind the scenes at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show and how the coveted Gold Medals are won.

All profits from the tickets will support Horatio’s Garden Stoke Mandeville. Entry to Braxted Park Gardens supports the National Garden Scheme that generously donated a grant to the capital appeal of Horatio’s Garden Stoke Mandeville.

Braxted Park, originally from the estates of the Countess of Pembroke is the largest walled private estate in Essex. The large Queen Anne house, beautifully restored by Sir Allen Clark in the 1950’s, sits majestically at the end of a long sweeping drive. The walled garden ‘rooms’ (similar to Hidcote) are approached through long Wisteria broad walk and stunning Mulberry parasol trees are unique to Braxted.
