Exciting news as RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2024 begins

It’s been an incredible start to this year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show, with Press Day bringing lots of familiar faces and friends to the charity’s tradestand!

Following on from our phenomenal year winning Best in Show with Horatio’s Garden Chelsea in 2023, designed by Harris Bugg Studio and funded by Project Giving Back, we’ve had a wonderful time chatting to everyone about how our award-winning garden is now being brought to life as the eight times larger Horatio’s Garden Sheffield & East at The Princess Royal Spinal Injuries Centre at Northern General Hospital in Sheffield.

Among this year’s Press Day visitors have been Orla Kiely, Rob Brydon, Manoj Malde, Philip Mould, Michael Le Poer Trench and Horatio’s Garden President, The Countess of Radnor, Robyn Donaldson, Rebecca Pow, long time supporter, Joanna Lumley, and of course our wonderful Horatio’s Garden ambassadors, Mel Giedroyc and Anneka Rice. Our tradestand was also attended by Fiona Bruce, Frank Gardener, Elizabeth Rizzini and Jo Thompson.

We were also delighted to see our friends from BBC Radio Wiltshire, with Karen Gardner paying us a lovely visit to interview our Founder & Chair of Trustees, Dr Olivia Chapple. You can listen to their interview on BBC Sounds here, beginning at 1h 53m 15s.

The day’s excitement continued in the afternoon, when the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) presented the prestigious Elizabeth Medal of Honour to Dr Olivia Chapple. At a special ceremony, Olivia received the award from Keith Weed, President of the RHS. The Elizabeth Medal of Honour (EMH) is the highest RHS honour for UK non-horticulturalists that have significantly impacted the advancement of the science, art or practice of horticulture for the benefit of all generations and the environment. You can read the full story here.

It’s been a joy to see so many kind and generous people at RHS Chelsea Flower Show, who all shared how much they loved our beautiful tradestand. A testament to all the fantastic people who worked over the weekend to bring the charity’s Chelsea home to life, we are immensely grateful to: Italian Terrace for their gorgeous pots; Crocus for their beautiful plants; Pip and Sarah of Wild Artichoke for lending us their fabulous planting skills; LECA for our pots’ finishing touches; Level Partnership for creating and installing our wonderful visuals, and of course fantastic volunteer Dee and our phenomenal Events team, Kate, Rosie, Annabel, for positioning our products and bringing the vision to fruition so wonderfully!

We’re so excited to see you all this week on Cross Way (CW312) at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show and at our pop-up shop in Newson’s Yard on Pimlico Road (SW1W 8NE) as part of Belgravia in Bloom, generously supported by Grosvenor.
