Christmas in the Barn with the Kinnairds made a triumphant return to The Larchfield Estate this November, with the annual and long-awaited festive fair successfully raising a phenomenal total of approximately £17,000 for Horatio’s Garden Northern Ireland!
The team behind Christmas in the Barn generously made us the event’s chosen charity when they discovered that our next stunning sanctuary would be supporting people affected by spinal cord injury from across Northern Ireland. They were moved to help the capital appeal for our new and seventh garden at The Spinal Cord Injuries Unit in Musgrave Park Hospital, Belfast, with their incredible contribution now certainly destined to make a real difference.
Opening from just 10am – 5pm across two days, entry was gained by simply making a donation on the door. The astounding amount raised is therefore a total testament to all the independent businesses appearing at the event, alongside the incredibly kind people attending. Together, they have achieved something truly wonderful.
With The Barn home to 50 stalls for the duration of the fair, each one bore a unique collection of gorgeous gifts brought especially for the occasion.
A heavenly host of local, talented traders appeared, with the event featuring quality crafts, delicious food, stylish clothing, gorgeous antiques, captivating artwork and much more. There was something to be found to suit everyone’s loved ones at the seasonal occasion and people we’re most definitely in a generous spirit!
Both Founder & Chair of Trustees, Dr Olivia Chapple, and Trustee, Catherine Burns, joined the stallholders, contributing our beautifully bespoke charity merchandise to the collection of gifts available.
The two shared that it was wonderful to be part of the warm, wintery atmosphere and together they enjoyed getting to know those with stalls and those doing their seasonal shopping. Both were moved by how many people wanted to know more about the charity and were enormously appreciative of how engaged and intrigued everyone was by Horatio’s Garden Northern Ireland.
It was a pleasure to be part of Christmas in The Barn with the Kinnairds, which has helped to raise both vital funds and awareness of our next horticultural haven. We’re looking forward to returning to Northern Ireland soon to catch up with many of those we met and are equally excited to introduce the charity to even more new supporters too.
