We had a wonderful evening celebrating the fifth anniversary of Horatio’s Garden Midlands at the beautiful Brynkinalt Estate.
By kind invitation of The Trevor Family, we gathered with lots of lovely people to recognise the positive difference our garden in Oswestry has been making to thousands of people’s lives at the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital (RJAH) throughout the past five years.
Enjoying drinks and canapés, our guests spent time chatting with familiar faces and got to know new friends, all with one thing in common: their passion for supporting Horatio’s Garden Midlands.
Coming together to listen to speeches from Horatio’s Garden Founder, Dr Olivia Chapple OBE EMH and six-time RHS Chelsea gold medal winning designer of Horatio’s Garden Midlands, Bunny Guinness, everyone had the opportunity to discover more about how our garden in Oswestry came to be. Both Olivia and Bunny also shared stories from their time in the garden over the years, including from that afternoon, when they both visited and chatted to people spending time outside in the garden.
Between the stories shared by Olivia and Bunny, and the stories shared by people in the garden in this short film, everyone came away with a fresh understanding of just how vital Horatio’s Garden Midlands is to people rebuilding their lives in the wake of a spinal injury.
The evening was generously supported by Miles Macadam and our brilliant regional garden partner, HCC Solicitors, who continue to contribute to Horatio’s Garden Midlands in so many wonderful ways. Some of the garden’s fantastic volunteer team kindly joined us for the evening too, greeting everyone with a warm welcome and ensuring everyone had a marvellous time.
We loved every minute of our evening at Brynkinalt and we’re excited to see what the future holds for Horatio’s Garden Midlands! Thank you so much to everyone who has helped to make this garden the special place it is today.
