We would like to welcome Martha Solloway to Horatio’s Garden, who this summer will be our new Artist in Residence in Salisbury.

Martha has been involved with the charity for a while and passionately supports us in any way she can. In the past she has generously donated her work to our 2018 Chelsea Secret Art Sale, and also designed our enormously popular Christmas card featuring a suitably festive robin!

Her residency will begin in the second week of July and you will be able to find her between 12-5pm in the garden on the following dates:

Tuesday 9th July

Wednesday 10th July

Tuesday 16th July

Wednesday 17th July

Tuesday 30th July

Wednesday 31st July

Tuesday 6th August

Wednesday 7th August

Throughout the months Martha spends with us she will be working with patients, their families, and their friends to create work with them and to encourage them to continue to pursue art throughout their rehabilitation. She will also be developing her own artwork, which once complete will be printed as a set of notelets to be sold to raise money for Horatio’s Garden.

Although Martha specialises in portraits, which she creates using oil on canvas, she enjoys working from a wide range of subjects and is often influenced by social issues. She is looking forward to being inspired by Horatio’s Garden to create something new.

We are excited to see where the garden takes Martha on her artistic journey and you can find out more about all her work by visiting her website here.
