Royal Patron

HRH Princess Eugenie

HRH Princess Eugenie has been our Royal Patron since May 2019. Her Royal Highness supports the charity’s vision of bringing thriving gardens to all the UK’s regional spinal injury centres.

“I am so happy to become patron of Horatio’s Garden. Since learning about this charity back in 2016, I have fallen in love with their mission to bring joy to people and help their recovery. In 2017 I was able to visit Horatio’s Garden Scotland, and in March this year I saw the site that has been identified at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore where I underwent spinal surgery. As a former spinal patient myself, I understand how the chance to get outside is so beneficial not only for recovery, but for staying positive at a life-changing, and often traumatic, time. I hope to learn from the patients I meet and the wonderful people working to create these gardens.”

Patron

The Countess of Radnor

The Countess of Radnor is our founding patron. The Countess is involved in all aspects of Horatio’s Garden and is also a volunteer, supporting patients who use the garden.

“I only wish I had known Horatio Chapple better as what essentially has been developed on the back of his initial research and furthermore in his memory is such an outstanding legacy. Horatio’s Garden charity continues to grow and to offer support in many areas to patients with spinal cord injuries. It is such a huge privilege to be patron of such an inspiring charity. Long may the gardens grow and all that they have to offer.”
