The Shropshire Star have kindly featured Horatio’s Garden Oswestry once again, celebrating the garden’s opening to patients and their loved ones earlier this month.

The newspaper details various elements of the design, giving readers an insight into just how thoughtful designer Bunny Guinness was when she first imagined the garden back in 2018. It also mentions the wildlife that is already in abundance in the garden, with the antics of many visiting animals delighting patients and their families as they enjoy the space together.

The opening, which you can read more about by clicking HERE, was attended by various supporters of the charity, including North Shropshire MP Owen Paterson and Chief Executive of the National Garden Scheme, George Plumptre. As the National Garden Scheme have donated £50,000 to the garden, George was thrilled to see the garden in all its finished glory. Meanwhile, Owen has passionately followed the project, particularly as he has experienced recovering from a spinal injury himself. Owen said, “The garden is incredible, and I know patients will appreciate the chance to have their beds or wheelchairs outside in the fresh air”.

We are so grateful to all those who explored Horatio’s Garden Oswestry with us for the very first time and look forward to seeing it flourish in the future.
