We’re thrilled to share that Horatio’s Garden Scotland is the focus of a beautifully written and exquisitely illustrated piece featuring in The English Garden magazine’s December 2023 issue.
The article entitled Hope Springs Eternal is penned by Nicola Todd-Macnaughton and includes photography by Ray Cox. Introducing the charity and the garden itself, which was designed by acclaimed garden designer James Alexander-Sinclair and opened in 2016 at the Queen Elizabeth National Spinal Injuries Unit at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, the piece takes a closer look at the design, planting, and wellbeing benefits of this thoughtfully created and carefully crafted garden.
In the piece we hear from Head Gardener Chelsea Lowe, who shares a little more about daily life in the garden, the creative ways in which the garden offers year-round interest and a warm welcome to people facing many months in hospital adjusting to life-changing injuries, as well as providing a few practical tips to help you in your gardens at home too.
We are so grateful to The English Garden, Nicola Todd-Macnaughton and Ray Cox for depicting the charity’s Scottish sanctuary so perfectly and hope you enjoy reading the December issue, available now.
