Whilst most of us have spent the past week sheltering from the wind and the rain, a brilliant host of Horatio’s Garden supporters have been busy braving the elements to complete the Virtual Vitality 10k!

The event usually takes place in London, with runners taking to the streets en masse to appreciate the capital’s sights in the glorious May sunshine. However, this year the race was an at-home event, with #teamhoratiosgarden taking to the tarmac in their local area to raise money for the charity whilst also celebrating the virtual event across the UK.

Despite many weeks of bright and beautiful autumnal weather, participants had to run their routes in the week of 24th October – 1st November. The majority of our supporters ran the 10k this weekend, which with the arrival of Storm Aiden meant that everyone got a little drenched along the way!

Nevertheless, this didn’t stop anyone from making the most of the run and although the chill resulted in everyone having slightly achier legs than usual, this was a small price to pay for a far greater sense of achievement.

So far, our runners have collectively raised almost £7,000 for Horatio’s Garden, which is a fantastic total and stands testament to many wonderful people donating in support each participant’s sporting prowess.

If you would like to donate, there’s still time to give whatever you can by simply visiting each person’s JustGiving page via the links below.
