We’re absolutely thrilled to share that Jonathan Race of Team Fischer’s Baslow has completed the London Landmarks Half Marathon in just 1 hour and 54 minutes, raising a fantastic fundraising total so far for the charity!

Despite covering great distances as Head Gardener of Fischer’s Baslow Hall in Derbyshire every single day, Jonathan confessed to his followers on Instagram that he is most certainly not a regular runner. Still, despite training being hard for him and the whole team, made up of Max, Matthew, Linda and Neil too, they’ve all really enjoyed building up the miles over the past few months.

Throughout their training regime, they’ve kept our gardens and the people they support at the forefront of their minds, giving every run their very best and embracing the benefits of being outdoors along the way.

The whole team had intended to make the trip to London this past weekend to take part, however sadly due to staff shortages as a result of Coronavirus only Jonathan was able to take on the 13.1 mile route in person.

Nevertheless, the other members of the team are not going to let anything stop them raising vital funds for the charity, so tomorrow they’ll be completing their very own Half Marathon route closer to home in the Peak District!

Jonathan, Max, Matthew, Linda and Neil are enormously grateful to everyone who has generously donated so far, but they still need your help to reach their fundraising target.

It’s been a joy to see the team go from strength to strength throughout the past few months and we really appreciate their efforts to help people affected by spinal injury across the UK.

As Jonathan said, he’s now very keen for a rest and a couple of biscuits and we’re certain that both he and his fellow London Landmarks Half Marathon competitors deserve a great deal of both!
