This week we’ve heard from Sue, a volunteer in Horatio’s Garden Salisbury, who has been lending the charity her time for many years now. To find out more about why Sue got involved, have a read of her story below.

“After my retirement I wanted to give something back and find something enjoyable to do. Having worked in an office it really appealed to be outside and working in a garden. I read an article about Horatio’s Garden in the Telegraph and it sounded just right for me. It is very near to where I live in Nunton. I wanted to improve my gardening. I have met some charming people who volunteer there too and some very interesting, brave and inspiring patients. My baking has improved by leaps and bounds, if not my gardening!”

It’s always wonderful to hear that Horatio’s Garden has had a positive influence on anyone’s life and we’re so grateful to Sue and all our volunteers for their dedicated support of the charity – and, of course, we absolutely love Sue’s delicious cakes!
