The Spring Forward Challenge is now over, having raised over £10,000 (including Gift Aid) for Horatio’s Garden!
Since launching on Sunday 31 March when the clocks were ‘springing forward’ into British Summer Time, the Spring Forward Challenge has encouraged many people to set individual or team challenges for the month of April and fundraise to improve the lives of people affected by spinal injury.
At the close of the challenge, we would like to take a moment to celebrate everyone who raised money for Horatio’s Garden as part of the Spring Forward Challenge! A wide range of active challenges were undertaken by many inspiring people, including:
- Horatio’s Garden Midlands, who traversed a 3.5 mile fully accessible circuit of Shrewsbury!
- Ruth and Tim, who ran the Southampton Half Marathon!
- Horatio’s Garden Wales, who covered the distance from Land’s End to John O’Groats!
- JMW Solicitors, who travelled the equivalent of the distance to every spinal injuries centre in the UK!
- Dan and Jenny, who ran the London Marathon!
- Horatio’s Garden Head Office, who walked 500km during their lunch breaks!
- Chelsea and Sadie, who took part in the Glasgow Kiltwalk!
- Horatio’s Garden Northern Ireland, who aimed to travel from Belfast to Paris!
- M&S Oswestry, who collectively walked 1 million steps!
The Spring Forward Challenge was also made possible by our fabulous Spring Forward Ambassadors, who helped to spread the word! Our ambassadors included Dan and Jenny, our incredible London Marathon Runners, alongside members of Ulster Rugby, including Rob Herring and Tom O’Toole.
We are so grateful to everyone who chose to spring forward with us in 2024, raising vital funds to create and care for our stunning gardens in UK spinal injury centres. If you didn’t get involved this year, it’s not too early to start thinking up a movement goal to set yourself for the 2025 Spring Forward Challenge!
