Horatio’s Garden London & South East is grateful for the donation of £6,853.64 provided to the charity by the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital Charity.
The RNOH Charity works to strengthen the important work of the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, home of Horatio’s Garden London & South East, by funding services and facilities in addition to those provided by the NHS.
The money will be used to fund a new gardening trolley and wood shredder, alongside regular garden expenses such as soil, compost, maintenance, fixtures and fittings.
Discussing the donation Ashley, Head Gardener of Horatio’s Garden London & South East, said: “Thank you to the RNOH Charity for generously supporting Horatio’s Garden London & South East. The shredder has allowed us to process woody material and add to our compost heap creating a closed loop for green waste, moving us to a more sustainable future for the gardens. The hand truck purchased has made moving heavy compost bags and pots 10x easier and reduces risk of injury from heavy lifting. The additional funds have been put towards keeping the gardens looking spectacular for patients, their loved ones and NHS staff to enjoy through purchasing mulch, bulbs, seeds and more. We get feedback daily on how much the garden impacts positively whilst they are at the hospital.”
