“Me being me, when I got to the spinal unit, I was so excited. I never thought I’d be in hospital for five months.”
Horatio’s Garden Ambassador, Melanie Reid recently met Horatio’s Garden supporter, Nicola Wilson, penning this brilliant, insightful piece for The Times and The Sunday Times Scotland; two stories we feel privileged to have been a part of.
Whilst Melanie has supported the charity since we began building Horatio’s Garden Scotland back in 2016, Nicola discovered us for the first time last year, not long before the incredible Horatio’s Cycle fundraising team visited the spinal centre in Middlesbrough where Nicola spent five months rehabilitating.
Fast forward to the present, this time next week Nicola will be preparing to judge at the Defender Burghley Horse Trials 2023 (31 Aug – 3 Sept), with Horatio’s Garden incidentally the event’s charity of the year.
