Sallie Sillars, Head Gardener for Horatio’s Garden Glasgow, recently welcomed BBC Radio Scotland reporter John Beattie to the garden to find out more about the charity and the support it offers to patients and their loved ones.

John cycled to the garden to chat with two patients currently staying in the Scottish National Spinal Injuries Unit, as well as Head Gardener Sallie and Volunteer Co-Ordinator Yvonne Gleeson.

Both patients spoke fondly of the garden, emphasising how much the friendly atmosphere and tranquil environment of Horatio’s Garden Glasgow has helped them since being in hospital. Both Yvonne and Sallie echoed their sentiments and offered listeners an insight into what it takes to nurture the garden and why their work is so worthwhile.

Thank you to the team of BBC Radio Scotland for featuring us and we look forward to seeing you back in the garden in the future!
