We are thrilled to announce that Horatio’s Garden has been chosen as one of The Big Issue 100 Changemakers of 2024!
Each year, newspaper The Big Issue selects 100 people or organisations who are making a positive difference, this year compiling the list using public nominations. Horatio’s Garden is honoured to have been nominated by actor Dominic West, who became an Appeal Patron for Horatio’s Garden Sheffield & East after meeting the team and seeing its Best in Show, gold medal winning garden at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in 2023.
Horatio’s Garden has featured in the ‘Climate, Environment and Sustainability’ category alongside incredible groups like Energy Garden London and the Housing Associations’ Charitable Trust (HACT).
Horatio’s Garden nurtures the wellbeing of people after spinal injury in beautiful, vibrant sanctuaries within the heart of NHS spinal injury centres. The charity is currently raising funds to bring its eighth garden to life at the Princess Royal Spinal Injuries Centre in Sheffield, the second largest spinal injury centre in the UK.
As an independent charity, Horatio’s Garden is grateful to The Big Issue for raising awareness of our work. If you would like to help us create and care for our gardens, please consider making a donation.
