We’re delighted to see that we have once again featured on the Hozelock blog, with Head Gardener Sallie Sillars penning the latest article.

Hozelock have long been brilliant, continual supporters of Horatio’s Garden and in 2021 made us one of their chosen charities. Their kindness to us as an organisation is often reflected in their efforts to raise awareness of all that we do, whilst they also make a real difference by generously donating their leading products to all six of our gardens.

Naturally, Hozelock share our passion for encouraging people to spend as much time as possible in the great outdoors, something Head Gardener Sallie finds joy in each and every day in her role in Horatio’s Garden Scotland.

The short piece poses a selection of thoughtful questions to Sallie, which not only reveal a little more about the personal path she took to working with us, but also discuss what her average day (if there is one!) in the sanctuary looks like. Alongside offering an insight into all the things filling her inspirational days, the piece also takes the time to focus on just some of Sallie’s favourite elements of the job.

With warmth infusing each word, Sallie’s guest blog is well worth reading and serves as a reminder that there are many ways each of us can come to relish nature. Although, as Sallie says herself, “beware, once bitten by the gardening bug, it’s ridiculously hard to stop!”

We’re so grateful to Hozelock for including us for a second time on their blog and to Sallie for sharing her infectious enthusiasm for gardens, gardening and all they have to offer with all its readers.
