Our very own Sallie Sillars, Head Gardener for Horatio’s Garden Scotland, was present at the High School of Glasgow earlier this month when Prince Edward, the Earl of Wessex made a special visit to meet pupils and staff involved in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Awards Scheme.

High School of Glasgow pupils have been volunteering at Horatio’s Garden Scotland as part of the scheme and Sallie was delighted to receive a certificate from the Earl of Wessex recognising the partnership. The pupils help support the amazing work being carried out in our Glasgow garden, ensuring patients and their loved ones can benefit from the beautiful garden space.

The Earl of Wessex, who is the royal trustee on the Duke of Edinburgh’s Awards Scheme chatted with pupils about their volunteering and other elements of the programme and learnt more about the work of the different charities working with pupils on their awards.

Here are a selection of images showing Sallie meeting the Earl of Wessex with the High School of Glasgow pupils and receiving the certificate on behalf of Horatio’s Garden.
