Two brilliant fundraisers, Tim and Katie Hill recently attempted a (truly!) breath-taking challenge on Saturday 12th September in order to raise money for Horatio’s Garden.

The pair decided to take on their own Dock2Dock challenge, which involved swimming a total of 5km in the murky waters of the River Thames. Together they opted to swim from the Royal Victoria Dock to the Royal Albert Dock and back again, which was certainly no mean feat!

Despite public swimming pools being closed throughout lockdown, both Tim and Katie were training hard for their challenge throughout the past few months, discovering some wonderful sea swimming locations along the way.

Neither of the two had ever swum this far before, but according to Tim, Katie set a fierce pace and together they successfully completed their swim in under two hours!

Their fantastic sponsors have also been incredibly generous with their support, helping them to far surpass their £1,000 target. The total currently stands at over £2,000, which is a reflection of Katie and Tim’s remarkable achievement.

There’s still time to donate, so if you would like to give a donation, please click here.

We’re enormously grateful to Katie and Tim for taking on their challenge and to everyone who has supported them. We hope the two spent Sunday somewhere warm and cosy recovering from their swim too!
