Helen and Kim Davies have been planning to do a fabulous fundraising cycle in support of Horatio’s Garden Wales since 2019 and now they’ve finally managed to get their team together in-person to take on the adventure!

Despite Coronavirus postponing their plans, the two have successfully kept the team’s morale and training up throughout many months and this weekend they all made the journey to the Isle of Wight to complete their challenge.

Once there, they were met by the brilliant John Allan from Wight Cycle Hire, who not only loaned the team some bikes for free, but also planned the whole route for the group. John was enormously helpful and immensely encouraging throughout, something Helen, Kim and all the cyclists were very grateful for, as are we.

It was the perfect weekend for the occasion, with the weather just dry and warm enough for the team to cross their finish line in comfort. Being friends, the group had plenty of fun as they traversed the picturesque terrain and everyone was simply happy to be together whilst raising money for a cause close to all their hearts.

Already the team have successfully raised over £1,000, with every penny going directly towards supporting the running costs of Horatio’s Garden Wales, which is due to open later this year.

Nevertheless, Helen, Kim and the whole team have their sights set on raising £3,000 for the garden, so please continue to give whatever you can.

We’re so appreciative of the team’s endless enthusiasm and support for Horatio’s Garden and hope they’re resting well back at home as we speak!
