Congratulations to Louise Finch and her uncle, Russell Winfield, for completing the Virtual London Marathon which took place this weekend!
The at-home marathon was the iconic event’s 40th race and every participant had just 24 hours to walk, run, or jog the total 26.2 miles, making it the most inclusive London Marathon ever.
The race was certainly a major challenge for the pair, with Lou confessing on her JustGiving page that she hates long distance running and has never come close to running a marathon before! However, as the charity is close to her, her uncle’s and her loved ones’ hearts, she knew completing the challenge would be well worth it.
Together, Lou and Russell completed their run in the fantastic time of 4 hours 35 minutes, which was a particular achievement for Lou considering it was her first marathon.
The two have also successfully raised £1,000 for Horatio’s Garden, smashing their original target of £500 with the help of many incredibly generous supporters. There is still time to donate, so if you would like to please visit the link below.
We are enormously grateful to both Lou and Russell for choosing to fundraise for the charity and every penny will make a real difference in supporting people currently facing life-changing injuries.
Hopefully the pair are taking a well-deserved rest today in the warm today!
