Jana Billington and her friend Georgia are attempting to climb Mount Kilimanjaro this August, with their incredible seven-day trek due to begin on Saturday 17th.
Mount Kilimanjaro is the highest freestanding mountain in the world, towering over the surrounding landscape with its 5895m high peak. The girls have been training for months in preparation for their journey, devoting their climb to raising money for Horatio’s Garden.
Jana’s dad previously spent four months in the Duke of Cornwall Spinal Treatment Centre in Salisbury, in rehabilitation following paralysis from a spinal cord injury. During that time Jana, her father, and the rest of their family enjoyed being together in the uplifting atmosphere of Horatio’s Garden, which inspired Jana to give something back to the charity.
