Bolt Burdon Kemp’s six gardens in six weeks challenge

The Spinal Injury Team at Bolt Burdon Kemp have long been incredible supporters of Horatio’s Garden, most recently helping the charity by embarking on their Six Gardens in Six Weeks Challenge.

Back in early November, each member of the team was given an envelope containing the name of the garden they would be travelling the equivalent distance to over the next six weeks.

Since then, those involved have been totting up their miles in all kinds of ways, with the team walking, running, cycling and swimming their way from the Bolt Burdon Kemp offices in Islington across the miles to Horatio’s Garden. Whilst the highest mileage might be the journey to Glasgow, it’s certainly no mean feat to reach Oswestry, Cardiff, Salisbury, Stoke Mandeville and Stanmore either!

Throughout the challenge the team have been documenting their progress on social media, which has featured dog walking, exercise bike action, lunchtime meanders and much more, with everyone getting in as many miles as possible whenever they can.

Their efforts resulted in a fantastic fundraising total of over £1,000 in support of the charity and whilst their challenge might now have come to an end, there’s still time to support them!

As the Spinal Injury Team at Bolt Burdon Kemp specialise in supporting people who have suffered catastrophic spinal cord injury, Horatio’s Garden is a charity close to their hearts.

From their time spent at the various rehabilitation centres around the country, they’ve not only seen how transformative each garden is, but have also discovered the positive impact the sanctuaries have on patients, their families and NHS staff.

Consequently, together they’re hoping that everyone will continue to dig deep and give generously to help us continue making a difference to countless people’s lives.

We are so grateful to Bolt Burdon Kemp for all their continued support and hope that the whole Spinal Injury Team will hopefully be able to take a very well-deserved rest over the festive holiday!
