We would like to thank the Leckford Estate for opening the wonderful Longstock Park Water Gardens on Sunday 2nd June from 1-4 pm in support of Horatio’s Garden.
Our volunteers spent an afternoon at the gardens, which have been described by the International Waterlily and Water Gardening Society as ‘the finest water garden in the world’, with a great many generous visitors. We are so grateful to everyone who supported the charity at the event, and to our volunteers for meeting and greeting supporters with a friendly face!
The volunteering team would certainly recommend the seven-acre site, which is home to an array of plants from around the world. It truly is a wondrous landscape to behold and well-worth a visit for experts and passionate enthusiasts alike.
Since becoming part of the Leckford Estate in 1942, the gardens have been cherished by all those lucky enough to visit them in the past. Now that the estate is owned by John Lewis & Partners and managed by Waitrose & Partners, the wider public have a unique opportunity to appreciate this spectacle, whilst all the while supporting charities like Horatio’s Garden.
