The Carten100 is a 100-mile cycle ride from Cardiff to Tenby and Horatio’s Garden has been nominated as one of the chosen charities for this September’s event!
The cycle is an opportunity for everyone to enjoy a brilliant ride to the beautiful Welsh coast. The Carten100 is neither a race, nor a sportive, it’s just a simple challenge and a wonderful way to support a host of incredible causes.
One person who will be relishing the ride is the brilliant Rhian Roberts, a former patient of the Welsh Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation Centre at Rookwood Hospital in Cardiff.
After damaging her spinal cord whilst playing in a rugby match, Rhian spent many months in hospital and hence has become a great supporter of Horatio’s Garden, in particular our sixth project, Horatio’s Garden Wales.
As such, she’s thoughtfully signed up with the Morello Clinic in Newport and will be cycling to raise money for Horatio’s Garden, along with a three other charities who have helped throughout her recovery; Wheelpower, Rookwood SpUR and The Welsh Rugby Charitable Trust.
Rhian’s Virgin Money Giving page is now life, so please donate generously to help her raise as much as she possible can and help to bring Horatio’s Garden Wales to life at University Hospital Llandough, the brand new home of the Welsh Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation Centre.
We are so grateful to Rhian for supporting our new sanctuary and wish her, as well as everyone else taking part, the best of luck with the continued training!
