This year’s Swim Serpentine will be held on Saturday 18th September and with two spots taken, we’re looking for three keen swimmers to fill our final Team Horatio’s Garden places!
If you or a team would like to take part in the Swim Serpentine in support of Horatio’s Garden, we’d love to hear from you!
Please email fundraising@horatiosgarden.org.uk
With more people embracing the icy depths of outdoor swimming than ever before in lockdown, as well as government restrictions meaning organisers had to cancel the event last year, this September’s Swim Serpentine is set to bigger and better than its predecessors.
To help ensure a comfortable and safe day for everyone involved, the Swim will be a socially distanced event. The organisers will be continually reviewing all the latest government guidelines regarding such events and will continually update you with information to ensure all those taking part are taken care of.
Our places are in the One-Mile Swim, a classic distance in the world of open water swimming. It is the most popular of all the Swim Serpentine distances, with swimmers taking anything from 20 minutes through to one hour to complete it. It’s open to everyone, so you can sign up regardless of your skill level.
As the Swim takes place on the same course as the London 2012 Marathon Swimming Olympic event, with one full lap of the Serpentine making up the mile, this is your chance to glide in the wake of your swimming heroes.
All that we ask is that you commit to raising £100 (per person) for the charity. Whilst this may sound like a lot, once you set up and share your JustGiving page, you’ll soon see the support flooding in and will far surpass your fundraising target!

Our Participants
Two brilliant individuals, Anna Crilly and Siobhan Coyle, have signed up to take part so far, both with unique stories to tell as to why they’re supporting us this September.
Anna is a volunteer in Horatio’s Garden, often painting and drawing with patients in the garden. She finds her time spent with people in the haven ‘endlessly inspiring’.
Siobhan is a former patient of the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore, where she previously spent six weeks in recovery as a teen. This was long before Horatio’s Garden came into being, but she remembers then how much she valued being wheeled outside for some fresh air, whilst now she always feels better after a stint on her allotment.
Anna and Siobhan’s JustGiving pages are now live, so please give whatever you can to support them as they embark on a fundraising feat that means a great deal to both of them.
