Heather Silcock is organising an extraordinarily unique fundraising event this September called ‘SUP for Horatio’s Garden’ (also known as Stand-Up Paddleboard for Horatio’s Garden)!
Taking part in SUP for Horatio’s Garden
This brand new sporting event will be taking place from Saturday 7th September to Sunday 8th September and we would love for anyone and everyone to get involved!
Currently the aim is for all those taking part to start paddling at Henley and to reach the finish line at Eton, where a crowd of supporters will be waiting to welcome you back to dry land!
The event is open to experienced and inexperienced paddlers alike, however we do recommend that all those who wish to take part have a training regime in place to ensure that everyone is safe whilst out on the water.
Heather is currently training three to four times a week, usually paddling between four to six miles on average (with a few eight mile challenges thrown in for good measure)!
As the event draws closer we’ll be updating this page with more details and some helpful tips so that you’ll be as prepared as you possibly can be for the big event.
Supporting SUP for Horatio’s Garden
If you would like to get involved in SUP for Horatio’s Garden, but don’t quite feel up to the paddling element, there are still many ways you can help.
Throughout the event our paddlers will need snacks and support, so it would be wonderful to see as many people as possible lining the banks to give those taking on the challenge a regular morale boost!
Donating to SUP for Horatio’s Garden
Heather has started a JustGiving page specifically for the event so that we can keep track of all the money raised by this fantastic event.

We wish Heather and all those paddling on behalf of Horatio’s Garden the best of luck and thank you to everyone who supports and donates to this ingenious event.
