Rose Prince talk at Yeo Valley day

Cookery writer and broadcaster Rose Prince will be giving a talk for Horatio’s Garden at Yeo Valley’s organic garden Holt Farm. Join us for a spoiling day at this incredible venue on Tuesday September 22nd 2015, 10.30am-4.00pm.

Rose will talk on “The New English Kitchen – seasonal eating and clever ways to make food go further”

The day will be generously hosted by the amazing Yeo Valley team. The venue, Holt Farm, is home to the Yeo Valley Organic Garden which is one of only a handful of ornamental gardens in Britain to be certified organic by The Soil Association. The talk and lunch will take place in the Garden Cafe.

Starting with coffee and homemade biscuits, guests will then hear Rose’s talk followed by a hearty, homemade lunch – all made with fresh, seasonal ingredients sourced in and around the valley.

After lunch, guests will be able to tour the six acres of stunning organic garden and talk to the team about the planting. The garden is the work of Sarah Mead and her team who have spent the last 20 years creating a beautifully diverse, seasonal patchwork of ornamental and edible planting areas.

Rose Prince is a columnist on the Telegraph Magazine and the author of four cookery books and two guides to shopping for better food. She began her career with BBC Radio 4 in 1994, contributing to the Food Programme and has written regularly for the Independent on Sunday, The Times, Daily Mail, Spectator – where she also cooked their legendary editor’s lunches, the Tablet, Vogue, the US’ publication Saveur and New Statesman. In 1999 she produced a two-part documentary about the life of the food writer, Elizabeth David for Channel 4. Her books include The New English Kitchen, Kitchenella, The Savvy Shopper and The Pocket Bakery. She is married with two children, Jack, 19 and Lara, 17.

Tickets are very limited for this event and early booking is recommended. The £75 cost all of this goes directly to the charity, thanks to the incredible generosity of Yeo Valley and Rose Prince.
