An opportunity to visit Horatio’s Garden Wales for a private tour. Every Horatio’s Garden is created by a leading designer and rarely open to the public. This tour offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the restorative garden and learn more about its key design features and style, the benefits of therapeutic horticulture and the impact of gardens on wellbeing.
Horatio’s Garden Wales was designed by award-winning, three-time RHS Chelsea Flower Show Gold Medal winner Sarah Price, renowned for her artistic, naturalistic planting style in such projects as the Olympic Park and a garden at Manchester’s Whitworth Gallery.
Horatio’s Garden Wales features scented, meadow, vegetable and flower gardens which encourage all-year round interest and biodiversity, inspired by the traditional Welsh landscape. It has a gently undulating landscape of diaphanous planting and clear-stemmed shrubs and trees, with sea view glimpses. A garden pavilion offers warmth, shelter and socialising, green oak seating for intimate places of repose and a greenhouse for growing and garden therapy. Star plants include the tactile paperbark maple and Seven-sons trees, fragrant planting including Daphne and box leaf Azara and elegant Japanese quince, toad lily and Chinese silver grass. Moor grasses create a tapestry of warm tones alongside amelanchier leaves turning dark red and the last bright blooms of our asters.

“It’s a little snippet of heaven that makes visits more like a family gathering rather than a hospital visit.”
