An opportunity to visit Horatio’s Garden Scotland for a private tour. Every Horatio’s Garden is created by a leading designer and rarely open to the public. This tour offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the restorative garden and learn more about its key design features and style, the benefits of therapeutic horticulture and the impact of gardens on wellbeing.
Horatio’s Garden Scotland was designed by celebrated garden designer and RHS Chair of Judges James Alexander-Sinclair. Despite having created countless stunning gardens from the Western Isles to the outskirts of Moscow, he maintains that Horatio’s Garden Scotland is his all-time favourite.
Horatio’s Garden Scotland includes unique design features including six distinct spaces to stimulate the senses, each with a different purpose, a woodland garden overlooked by the wards and several garden pods surrounded by flowerbeds brimming with colour and life.
Find out more about Horatio’s Garden Scotland here.
Led by the Head Gardener Chelsea Lowe, you will have time to talk and learn about the charity, discover the incredible variety of plants and the individual design elements of the garden and time to enjoy the uplifting and vibrant space around you.
The garden has a wealth of late season colour to enjoy, including Kirengeshoma, Aster, Helenium, Echinacea and Dahlias. The Espaliers will be dripping with fruit, and we’ll discuss apple varieties alongside an apple tasting.
Hot beverages and homemade cake will be available and there will be a selection of fabulous plants and Horatio’s Garden merchandise on sale, if you wish to have a memento of your visit.
You will be gifted a plant list specific to the garden and a beautiful enamel Horatio’s Garden pin badge, so you can continue to show your support long after your visit.
The tour will begin at 10:30am and lasts 1.5 hours. We would advise you to arrive in good time to allow time for parking if you are driving and making your way to the garden.
In case of rain and adverse conditions; suitable clothing should be worn.
All profits from tickets purchased will go directly to the charity, to enable Horatio’s Garden to continue to nurture lives after spinal injury.
Numbers are limited and a ticket must be purchased for everyone in your party. Horatio’s Garden reserves the right to cancel your tour. In this unlikely event, we will contact you directly to give you the option of an alternative tour date or full refund.
“I don’t think I’d be where I am with my rehabilitation without Horatio’s Garden. Without it, I don’t think I would have lasted long emotionally.”
