Horatio’s Garden Northern Ireland is a private garden for people affected by spinal injury, so this is a rare opportunity to visit a beautiful, accessible, restorative garden created by nine-time RHS Chelsea gold medal winner Andy Sturgeon.
The garden is the most recent Horatio’s Garden to have been created and first welcomed patients, their loved ones, and NHS staff in December 2023. Partially funded by the National Garden Scheme, the garden was designed to distract from the surrounding buildings and provide a peaceful and natural environment for patients and their families. Its design elements include a stunning water feature, a social area with parasols and sensory planting, and a number of star plants like the tactile paperbark maple.
Horatio’s Garden Northern Ireland is a horticultural sanctuary like no other.
NOTE: It is important that you enter the garden using the side gate, rather than coming through the ward. Full directions can be found in our FAQ sheet available here.
