Founder and Chair of Trustees, Dr Olivia Chapple, recently featured on BroRadio, which is the local radio station responsible for broadcasting across the Vale of Glamorgan.

Olivia was welcomed on air for her live interview by Geoff Selby, who artfully guided the segment aimed at raising awareness of the charity now that we’ve begun the capital appeal for Horatio’s Garden Cardiff.

Olivia introduced listeners to the charity and how connecting with nature in a safe, beautiful garden helps patients and their loved ones come to terms with life-changing injuries. She shared the story of the charity and how it has grown since 2012, touching on how wonderful it’s been throughout the past eight years to see patients, their families and friends benefitting from and enjoying the gardens.

It was particularly wonderful to hear enthusiasm from Geoff about our latest project at University Hospital, Llandough, which is in collaboration with the Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. He happily listened to Olivia as she described the thoughtful designs created by garden designer Sarah Price and commented on how lovely it was to hear Olivia passionately talk about the charity.

The conversation then turned to fundraising for the garden, with both Geoff and Olivia encouraging individuals, local communities and businesses to get involved in supporting the project in any way they could. As Olivia rightly said in the interview, we love hearing all of your fundraising ideas, so if you would like to get in touch, simply email fundraising@horatiosgarden.org.uk.

Thank you to Geoff and everyone at BroRadio for giving us the opportunity to talk about Horatio’s Garden on the show. We’re looking forward to seeing what the future holds for Horatio’s Garden in Cardiff.
