Readers of The Telegraph may well have spotted us among the pages of the Gardening Section in Saturday 19th February’s edition thanks to Bunny Guinness mentioning Horatio’s Garden Midlands and our new Head Gardener, Alex Law, in her latest column.

Having designed and opened the sanctuary at the Robert Jones & Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital in Oswestry almost three years ago, Bunny has helped the garden become a thriving and integral part of the Midland Centre for Spinal Injuries.
Seeing the garden so warmly embraced by patients and NHS staff alike has been a joy for everyone involved with the charity and as Bunny details in her article, it seems it was this that first attracted Head Gardener Alex to his new role.
Both Bunny and Alex have spent the past few weeks getting to know each other and by total coincidence, Alex previously worked at one of Bunny’s favourite gardens, Wollerton Old Hall.
Naturally, this prompted her to ask him why he decided to seek out a new opportunity.
It turns out Alex had a whole host of reasons, all of which feature in Bunny’s piece, however his desire to harness the power of horticulture to ‘hopefully change the world for the better and make a positive difference in peoples’ lives’ is one that we most certainly echo and appreciate.

We’re excited to see how the garden develops now that Bunny and Alex will be working alongside each other and are enormously grateful to Bunny for reminding readers that brilliant people are responsible for making many wonderful things happen across the UK each and every day.
