London-based professional photographer, Chaz Oldham, has kindly shared his film, Beauty & Truth: Healing Green, with Horatio’s Garden.
Chaz began his journey photographing the healers and the healed of the horticultural world just over a year ago, with no idea of where it would take him. He initially conceived the project as a small celebration of the best the green world had to offer, however it quickly became something larger and more profound.
Over the course of ten months, Chaz covered over 15,000 miles and managed to capture the portraits of 26 sitters, all of whom feature in the film. His finished work was exhibited at this year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show, where the response from the public was totally overwhelming. Speaking of the project Chaz said simply, “It has changed my life”.
Extraordinarily, the film is inextricably linked with Horatio’s Garden, not only because it features Founder & Chair of Trustees, Dr Olivia Chapple, but also many of the gardens’ designers. Cleve West, James Alexander-Sinclair, Joe Swift and Sarah Price all agreed to be involved in the project and we think you’ll agree that Chaz’s portraits capture their own unique qualities just as much as their gardens do.
