On Sunday 1st September we welcomed visitors to Horatio’s Garden Scotland, opening our garden gates in support Scotland’s Garden Scheme.
Remarkably, the sun was shining throughout the afternoon which gave everyone the chance to explore the garden in all its seasonal glory! Our volunteer team have worked incredibly hard in preparation for the event and their efforts certainly paid off. Many people commented that the garden looked spectacular, and plenty more complimented the delicious homemade cakes made specially by volunteers for the event.
Everyone was also delighted by the addition of an art exhibition, which included beautiful work from patients and our previous artists in residence, Caroline May and Miranda Creswell. It also featured the architectural plans for the new garden room extension, which were of great interest to patients, volunteers and visitors alike. The new development will ensure that the garden can be enjoyed by everyone, regardless of the changeable Scottish weather!
We hope that all those who visited on Sunday loved spending time in the garden and we look forward to catching up with many of you again next year.
